or the first spider in a new house.

Classes have started. They’re mostly good and a little bit weird and make me feel odd and slightly lonesome. But I walk through Palamountain and I feel at home and when I’m a few minutes early to fiction I walk to Tom’s office to see how he’s doing. I have an advisor who’s also a friend. He, sitting on the couch outside his office, compares himself again to the nurse in Romeo and Juliet. I wonder if Tom remembers that Romeo and Juliet both died.

Happy things: two of my best friends are on my bed, one is one the way to a gentleman’s house, and they all live in my apartment; I’ve finished my bulletin board; my ambien has kept my bedtime in check since I’ve been here.

Today I learned that owl’s eyes are tubular so they can’t move them! My friends said this was sad but I think the owls are probably doing just fine.

I'm from Maine. I go to Skidmore. I like the ocean, words, and nice things.
